Painting number 29, Part 1
My recent paintings have juxtaposed two distinct modes of representation (red/blue v. straight/curved brushstrokes) into a single composition. This painting is part of a diptych where I separate the modes - red with straight brushstrokes, and the companion painting will be monochromatic blue and composed of only curved lines. Recently I have been thinking about how addition to the paintings representing explosions, clouds, maps and fights - they also explore a pop art representation of tension and unrest.
